This is the second piece in a series of ten that will be produced from now to August 2009. The series is called "A Trip to the Lion Kingdom" and it's designed to a children's story book (albeit highly cynical). You can see the finalized layout in full effect with the previous vector, The Raven of Wisdom: [link] , which includes both illustration and the story. I did the vectoring with Photoshop CS2 and my laptop's nub mouse. The original sketch was designed and created by the talented =lllaria.

Anyway, this piece has a background story, so here it is:

A Peaceful Day in the Clouds

So Peter Schlieffenburgzenakizewaffen launched his dark grey balloon. He was sailing over the French countryside enjoying the sights. "Ah, Hapezenaterbenter Durentameffen Wagnerziem Spchelenvien!" which in English meant "Ah, what a nice day!" Peter had joined up in the German airforce a while back and he always loved the scenery. But alas those pesky sirens kept disturbing him. He knew exactly what he had to do.

Peter smiling and thought "The clouds look like drifting pineapples!" (except, he probably thought in German, being a German and all). He gleefully smiled and loved the breeze in his head and dropped a few hundred pounds of explosives on the small French town. "Oh, Zergaeimbanter Wagenneier!" he said aloud and headed off to the next village. Ah, what a beautiful day to be in World War I.

The moral of the story is that sometimes we all get bogged down with the complexities of life, such as bombing French villages for the Fatherland, and we miss the simple things like a beautiful day or the shapes of clouds. Just relax!

Did the editor know that, that that 'that' that that 'that' followed was redundant?
:icondragonmaw:
Hilarious plot, though you may want to fix up the actual German :P

The difference between a hero and a coward is mostly a matter of timing.
