Hey everyone!
I just wanted to say that I just got back from my drive from San Antonio where I stayed the night at ~DJStrife's place after the devMeet in Austin.
I'm super tired, so I'll keep it short before I go to bed.
Basically it rocked. I don't know about other devMeets, but I'm sure it was 60 billion percent better than those crap excuses for meets. Even the Summit can't compete!
We all hung out and talked (*asoldier came almost as early as we did, around 2 hours before things started), got to know each other and that sort of thing at Mozart's Coffee right on Lake Austin. About 30 or so people turned out. Maybe more! I was also able to give away some official deviantART gear thanks to the generous $Heidi! Very nice. A bit humid, but all good.
Until the rain! Then we all agreed to go to the place next door to get food. But the wait was an hour and thirty minutes, so no way. So instead, we sat outside in the rain for about 15 minutes trying to come up with a course of action on where to go.
Our plan ended up with us getting some BBQ treats at Rudy's. The caravan that we used to travel in got broken up and it was generally a mess -- but hilarious! I thank ~pgraves' skill at coordinating things for getting us there! We all made it and had a good meal, except ~hazelarmadillo, who is a vegetarian (we're so inconsiderate! [but she did eat later (only that sucked too!)]).
After which, we hung out at `StJoan's place and talked about... traffic violations and other very devious things. ~zanenkim even whipped out his old school Brownie! It was amazing, as you can tell!
From there, ~DJStrife and I headed out! And I fell asleep hard. Then managed to wake up and jet in the morning!
And I'd do it again in a heartbeat! Awesome meeting everyone. I can now definitively say that Tejas is the best!
